foaming

Before christmas we added blue glycol (glycol with rust inhibitor) to a free cooler.

problem is that when the system gets load the water starts foaming.
we have never seen this before but we have never used this kind of glycol before

anyone ever seen or had this problem before ??

i was thinking of adding a defoaming solution but also un sure if this then would effect the glycol protection ??

the glycol was supplied onsite so cannont ask our usal supplier as they dont sell this product

Yep, use the defoamer, designed for the job so you should be OK.

Used to use it with the dear old Robur gas fired chillers which had open secondaries.
