Re: Exapansion for Cascade system
I haven't worked with R-23 in many years, it is just about the holidays but when I get back I am certain I can provide some information. Why R-23? it runs higher pressure and temperature then R-508B or R-13.
Also if you speak to a expansion valve manufacturer I have found that they will almost always recomend a valve for your application.

what is the capacity of low side in kw ? TEX mfr can support you in the selection of valve for R-23 like Sporlan, danfoss, alco etc . They can guide you .

Re: Exapansion for Cascade system
Besides, you need an oil separator which is efficient 99% in r-23 system. Such applications are frought with oil return difficulties to compressor . Borosilicate microfibre type oil separator would be a good idea . Many systems are failure prone in the absence of a good separator ; conventional ones would not do a good job of oil return.compressor failures are frequent .
