ICE block plant
Dear fellow members,
We have newely purchased Brine chiller of the following
Capacity: 14TR
Liquid to be cooled : Methanol
% Solution by weight : 30.5%
Brine Entering temp. : -15°C
Brine Leaving temp. : -20°C
Brine flow rate across chiller : 42 USGPM
Water flow rate across condenser : 56 USGPM
Refrigerant : R-22
The Kcal/hr: 181440.
To this we have a Insulated Tank of 5 KL capacity and the solution we store is methanol & water (% sol= 30.5%).
Can we use this methanol &water mixture(30.5%) to a secondary tank for making block ICE.
Our requirement is to make 3 ton of ICE per day.
Please let me know any design consideration for making the block ICE tank.
