    Cool Reclaim - 410A

I return bottles of mixed reclaimed refrigerant all the time! It just isn't practical to carry 6 reclaim bottles. Should I take any special precautions when adding R410 a to the mix

Remember the rules of carrying hazardous waste etc.

Are you returning your waste cylinders right away or becoming a waste carrier by keeping it/them on the van?

Your special precaution should be 'don't get caught', but lets be honest, who's checking at the moment?

A mixture of recovered refrigerants becomes hazardous waste.
In the states, folks who exchange recovery cylinders do a pt on
them. If it does not pt, it is hazardous waste. The contractor
will pay in excess of $30.00 per pound to have the contents
disposed of. On a side note, be sure you are using 400psi
    cylinders.

Don't forget Daltons law of partial pressures:

The pressure of a mixture of gasses in a sealed container is the sum of the individual gas pressures.

So even if you were using the right bottle for a given refrigerant you could easily exceed the maximum working pressure for that bottle by mixing refrigerants!

and before anyone mentions that this only applies to an ideal gas, the error for real world gasses is very small.
