Power requirement of chiller
Hi
I need to know if my chiller unit is sufficient to chill some coolant.
Currently when performing a test the tank temp rises from 8-18 deg C. It is filled with 1500 L of water. I want to know how much power it takes from the chiller to cool the tank back to 8 deg?
Mass flow rate of the water entering the tank is 6.25 kg/s.
Am I correct to use Q = (mass flow rate)(specific heat)(18-8), i.e. Q=mcpdt?
Also if I used the tank/chiller combo for cooling 2 identical tests would the power and tank temp simply double?
Any help would be brilliant
Kind regards
T
