    Water flow rate.

    hi

i am wondering is there an cheap instrument that anyone knows of for measuring water flow rate , ie through a condenser bundle @binder points...

i suspect an uneven balance af flow from a large dry cooling cuircut causing abnormal temps and pressure on certain systems..

    any advice appreciated

    rgrds phil

I've never known a cheap instrument that does a good job and fortunately there have been very few in this line anyway.

You can use a mechanical or electronic manometer of the type shown here...

If it is for a one-off then you may be able to hire one, I know we can in England, BSRIA eg.

If its Binder Test points you only need a needle type pressure gauge.Check the pressure drop across the Condenser bundle versus Manufacturers data.
I bought a specific kit from BSS for I think £90 about 5 years ago.
