    gass suplyers in the uk

I'm attempting to build first phase change cpu cooling system, and i've got everything i need on order. That is, except gass. From what i can tell r290 & ln2 (for testing & brazing) are unregulated, but I cant for the life of me find a supplyer which doesnt require you do a safty course first.

Now I can see the logic in that, but if i want to blow myself up, thats upto me, its allready costing me a small fortune. does anyone know a uk supplyer where i can buy such gasses?

otherwise I guess i'll do the course.

and i assumed r290 would be abit purer, than the stuff youed get from b&q, what about the nitrogen though, i dont realy want to pressure test on propane.

Welcome to the world of regulation.

You will find in many areas that tradespeople cannot buy suitable materials for the job through their wholesalers. They can, however, buy the product on the high street.

Some things work the other way around and this could be one of them.

From what i gather there is more gas in a cheap throw away fag (cigarette to our cousins across the pond) lighter ,than there is in a domestic fridge. Call it Butane or R600, it's the same stuff.

I wonder if all those lighters get pressure tested with nitrogen?
I am certain my lighter left on the dash of the van in summer withholds far greater pressures than a domestic fridge/freezer in normal operation.

in the USA you can order it as "HC-12a" or envirosafe 12a etc... those handle the properties of R-12, but there are other variants for other drop ins that are hydrocarbon based and in the USA non regulated, other than the EPA in the USA doesnt allow any HC to be used except in special process refrigeration..
