Chiller system
We have chiller unit serving a mortury, the themristors to the elliwell controller, are giving incorrect readings, there is a run out you can change to make the sensors read correct this seems to last a few hours then runs out massivly, the room is currently 4d. inside but the amibent temp is reading 12.
Can someone please help or advise why this is happening, (please note the cable runs outside the room, around the outer of the building).

Re: Chiller system
Probably faulty controller. Connect replacement probe and see if happen again. If yes, then change Eliwell.
Also, check connection of probe with cable for moisture, and at controller terminals.
Check controller power supply for correct voltage.Last edited by nike123; 13-11-2009 at 10:00 AM.

Re: Chiller system
Thanks for the quick reply, that is the exact process we followed, we changed the valve and then the controller.

Re: Chiller system
Could there be an Issue with your power supply?
What is your controller Voltage?
You may have to check your cable run lengths,
A simple check would be to use a temporary supply and install the controller nearer the room.
You should not have to wait long to prove this.
Good luck and please let us know how you get on.
Cheers grizzly
PS. I was going to suggest a dead short, but that would be in bad taste!!!!

Re: Chiller system
Back again.
Note PT100 Cable runs can be extended to 100mtrs provided 1.5mmsq cable is used.
please refer to the attached.
as possible cause and effect.

Re: Chiller system
And what about this:
Also, check connection of probe with cable for moisture, and at controller terminals.
Check controller power supply for correct voltage.
If then works OK you have problem with extension cable type/size, connections, or with EM induction from near power cables.
