There are about 4 things different .

    Water jackets on heads .
A+B are cast into head with diamond shape which are harder to clean .
WA+B have flatter type plate bolted on head which are very easy to clean ( no crevices or hard to get at bits ).

Heads and head spring are different and not interchangable .

Suction and discharge valve springs are heavier ( performance improvement ) .

Valve plates are different to accomodate different valve springs and quantity of springs .

Shaft seal is different with rotating steel face being split in middle and spring loaded against thrust bearing ( mycom call it double seal ) .

Sump casting in A+B has cast webbing in sump while WA+B is smooth dish like and very easy to clean .

Piston ring cofigeration changed around this time but you can use in both to keep it simple .

    Ithink thats about it .
