I'M Sure Ammonia is eating the Handle?
Is it just me?
I tend to use Robinair Vacuum Pumps ( the ones that vent through the Handle).
And Very good they are to!
But I have noticed that the ones that I have used on ammonia. Always crack across the handle, as if the ammonia is eating the plastic.
Is it just my imagination?
Does this happen on other pumps not used on Ammonia?

Had a chat with the guy in the sparky shop about plastic switches failing on dairy farms and he said its due to ammonia, so wouldn't be surprised.
Get yourself a nice yellow jacket one, the exhaust on them is the same size as a garden hose so you can pipe the exhaust away
I think SRW does replacemnent handles etc for the robinair ones.

Hi Grizzly.
Nothing worse than an eaten handle, I not keen on yellow jacket vac pumps either, I have got one that after a ammonia evac., it would not pull the skin off a rice pudding. They must have copper or brass stuff interanally some were.
