Exclamation High Stage Ultra Low Leak

I'm working on a -86 degreee upright freezer. I have found a leak on the suction side of a Highstage compressor. Speaking with one of my coworkers i mentioned that i would like to replaced my cascade heat exchanger as with this brand I can not flush through my High Stage side of the heat exchanger ( no biggie there ) I also thought that replacing the compressor would be necessary because we probably pulled in moisture and ambient air into our system. This leak was found at the joint where the piping goes into the compressor. We are looking at a refrigeration system with AB oil ( similar to zerol 150) with a HPLC Grade Pentane as the oil sweeping agent and a charge made up of 70 percent R134a and 30 percent R410a.

Again to me I tihnk this calls for an automatic compressor swap because there is no way to remove the oil and replace it with clean oil. The comrpessor comes pre charged with Oil from manufacturer, my co worker says look at the oil, if the oil looks good do not swap the compressor.

I'm really asking for some opinions on this because I'm nervous about leaving in this compressor, even if the oil looks good.

Any thoughts from any one on here??

Its on the high stage, then check the oil, if good, then nitrogen purge, deep vac (can repeat), then run, do not see the point in changing if all indications are OK, unless business is poor at the moment and you need the cash?

Re: High Stage Ultra Low Leak

it is recomended to replace the compressor by all ultra low manufactures.
is it realy worth the risk of the unit failing a couple months down the road
just when the customer places hundreds of thousands of dollars back in the unit.
