Annie A-12 hermetic compr tester
Has someone the manual for a vintage Annie A-12 hermetic compressor tester?
I bought this unit 2nd hand 15 years ago and lost the manual.
There are 4 leads: white, yellow, black, red. 3 indicators.

Re: Annie A-12 hermetic compr tester
Thanks Mark. Any help is welcome.
It's of course possible to make one myself but this is a handy unit with different capacitors, reverse run, ohm, AMPS , Volts indication,...

T2 is the transformer for the HI LOW range of the AMP meter M2
S2 is the switch RELAY/OFF/LINE.
Meaning of Transformer T1?
The resistor R? (can't read it) right on top is for the 0 adjustment of M1 (ohms)
Before each neon light (110 VAC) an in line resistance to divide the 220 VAC voltage.
S6 pushbutton START CAPACITY
S5 selector for different start capactities
S3 MASTER SWITCH ON/OFF /REVERSE.
S4 is switch POWER/RELAY/OHMS.
What is the meaning of R8 variable potmeter?

Re: Annie A-12 hermetic compr tester
when used to start and run a comp
red --run
black --comon
white --start
yellow is unused in this test but make sure you cover it up because if it touches the caseing it will spark, blow the fuse and you will get a frightIF AT FIRST YOU DON`T SUCCEED.

Re: Annie A-12 hermetic compr tester
no it`s used to test a capacitor
(black and yellow)
and also i think you can use it as an insulation tester
the capacitors are built in and you can`t not start a comp without using one thats why it`s good for freeing stuck ones.
put it on the highest capacitor and rock it (forward then reverse) and at the same time boot the comp.
used to work for me and if it didn`t ....... well it was knacked anyway.

Re: Annie A-12 hermetic compr tester
I still can't find what I am looking for.. The unit is a Imperial Eastman A-12D with LCD display not the analouge unit.
Even Johnson Controls don't have a copy..
Any way, my unit is tripping the rcd when I try to use the 240 volt test and I'm not an electronics engineer so I can't quite work out what I need to replace.
