    (Help!) Which book to choose?

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone here has seen either of these two books,

    Principles of Refrigeration (Dossat) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Principles-Refrigeration-Roy-J-Dossat/dp/0130272701/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255441504&sr=1-1

    or

Modern Refrigeration and Air Conditioning http://www.amazon.co.uk/Modern-Refri...5441363&sr=1-6

Could anyone advise as to which would be best for someone to learn from or is there any other books you could recommend?

    Thanks.

Roy j dossat `` principles of refrigeration`` basics is a book you should go for.

For advance you have stoecker `s handbook of industrial refrigeration

I certainly could have recommend Modern Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. (what I used to have was a much earlier version) can not comment on how it tackles the lastest changes within the industry, but if it is as good as the earlier versions then it looks like a good buy

Dossat. I do have MR&F, but my version is a bit too American to make it an easy reference tool for me.

If you are considering getting acquainted with the industrial side of refrigeration I can't commend the RETA industrial refrigeration series 1 & 2 enough.

Go for Roy Dossat, his book is constantly in my breif case. Otherwise under my pillow when a sleep. The SI version of course. Covered in grease and the odd page fallen out.

Dossat is deemed the "Bible" for refrigeration, It was my reference book at college. But then I also have a Carrier design manual which is great for all things air con.

So for the basic fundementals .... definately Dossat.

Mine are old .... but then the science of refrigeration hasn't changed just the style of kit we use.
