Vilter HP compressor
Hi guys!
Does anybody here on this forum have any experience with Vilter single screw compressors running on ammonia with approx 45-50 bar high pressure? The compressor will be in a two stage heat pump that can deliver up to 90 deg C water...
If you have any experience at all with Vilter compressors, good or bad, both screw and recips, please reply....

Re: Vilter HP compressor
Have you consulted the Vilter factory .They are a wealth of knowledge and usually when there is a unique application such as this, the factory was involved with it's design. Vilter is located in Cudahy.Wisconsin,USA.
Vilter recips are "nicknamed" battleships because they are built tough. The double screw or "howden" designed screw is very rugged. The "gate roter" designed single screw has a lot of moving parts. Both screw machines require a LOT of lube oil to accomplish providing a seal between the lobes
