Size of YOUR NH3 system
How many lbs/kgs of refrigerant does your facility have? Or what was the largest system you worked on?
I currently am employed by a potato processing facility that has ~60,000 lbs of NH3. We also have 24 compressor ranging in size from 300hp to about 650hp.

Re: Size of YOUR NH3 system
Hi Simplygold,
The Ammonia refrigerant charge of the main plant on this site is around about 18 tons on low charge to 21 tons on full charge. The 12 Grasso compressors that make up the plant are rated around 780 TPH and the main surge drum is rated at 1,000 TPH turn over via the three Ammonia pumps fitted to it.
I think that we would do the same products as you Chips and roast potatoes.
Arthur.

Re: Size of YOUR NH3 system
Hi all, On top of the main plant we have two smal systems and a coldstore that would add on 14 tons more onto the site in total around 32 to 35 tons.
ICEMAN as you can see we added a new plant and freezer last year onto the site, and starting to build a new compressor room over the other side of the factory away from the road.
