    Cooling load for refrigerated warehouse

I'm sure this will seem like a very basic question but I'm trying to figure out how much energy it will take to cool a large storage and distribution warehouse.

There will be 7,500 m2 of freezer warehouse (-18 deg C) and 10,000 m2 of chilled warehouse (1 deg C).

Is there a benchmark of some sort as in W/m2 or kWh/m2/yr?

I'm currently working with a figure of 6.86 kW per 1,000 m2 for the freezer warehouse but I can't find anything for estimating the refrigerated warehouse.

    Thanks.

you would need a whole lot more information than what you have provided to even give a guesstimate.

here are some points for you to consider:

    type of insulation

    thickness of insulation

    ambient temperature

    product being stored

temperature of product entering refrigerated space

    storage

Pull down, if pull down time required to reach storage temp

volume of refrigerated space not m2

hopefully this will help you focus on what you need to determine.

go to a warehouse and ask for the data, and learn learn learn.
asking here is bit too easy to get your paper.

~7kW per 1000m2 is 7W per m2. Calculation for the insulation thickness for the floor is 11W/m2...Don't count on that figure please
