Collecting refrigerant of VRF
I've to repair Hitachi RAS-30FSN, but have to collect the refrigerant in outdoor unit. Is this posible, or I have to collect in tankers? I know how to do it, but I'm afraid that can blow the heat exchanger of outdoor unit.

Re: Collecting refrigerant of VRF
First you have to know if there was any additional refrigerant charge. If so, you have to collect ref to tanks because you have more refrigerant in the system than outdoor unit (condenser) volume. If You don't have additional charge than you can pump down the refrigerant to cond.

Yes, there is additional refr. I think 16kg. Maybe, I'll collect the aditional quntity in tank and remain quntity, in OU unit. I'think it will be ok.

I agree with Bartolo. Had a Hitachi engineer on one of my sites and he did exactly the same thing. Recovered the additional charge and pumped the rest down.
