    Furthur studies

I've just finished my NVQ3 and i'm wondering what options are open to me now academically speaking?

I want to continue my studies, wether that be HNC/HND or a degree but like i say i'm not sure what my options are.

I've looked online and the only degree i can find is one at Bath which is a foundation degree in Air Con , refrigeration engineering but it is 180 miles away from me.

I'd be looking for somewhere in the north west of england preferably.

    Well Done Marc.

It's good to know that you wish to continue your education. We all learn something everyday, although some will say that they know it all already.

The next step on the ladder is the NVQ Level 4 (HNC), so this is the logical step, although you could opt for the Degree if you want to devote the time and effort.

I can't recommend any courses but would advise you to speak with your local training College/University.

Any further learning after the NVQ3 is targeted more toward the design aspect and not hands on learning.

Good Luck with whatever route you take.

Those who know all of the answers haven't yet heard all of the questions.

Thanks Frank, to be honest i think i would like to go down the design route. It's another string to the bow and gives me more options of what path to follow in later years.

Exactly so. It is always a good idea to explore and expand your options, and the best way to find your ideal path.

I started down the design education path many years ago and found it incredibly boring. I kept looking around for a set of wrenches to spin. The wrenches make it real for me. I soon reached the conclusion that a life of designing systems, coupled with office politics would drive me stark raving mad... throw in a time clock and I might just go postal.

It was not for me. However... the effort was not wasted as bits and pieces of what I had learned helped guide me in later endeavors.

    Education is never wasted.

Congratulations Marc, you'll be smarter than the rest of us soon.

Frank, liked the question sheet; I've learnt a new word today - contraflexure.

Mind you, I had to look it up and now I am 100% non the wiser
