    Urgent: absorption chiller

    Hi

Could you please give any information or references about these points:

    1. how does the quality of the refrigerant effect the absorption chiller?

    2. how does the quality of the steam ,which used to heat the absorbent, effect the absorption chiller?

    Absorper pair is?

Liquid ammonia carryover to an absorber causes high-high heat rejection requirement at the absorber (extra cooling required) and rise in T-evap.

Water in your steam supply will cause the regenerator temperature to want to rise; though this a little hard to detect at low water contents....

Remainder depends on the exchange between Low and High Side.

What type of machine are you talking about. Is your refrigerant water? is your absorbant lithium bromide?

    Quality is everything with refrigeration.

Pray tell, why is this question so urgent ?

If the machine has been running at low load for a long time the water may be contaminated with lith/brom this needs to be reconstituted. You may have to add some octy alchol to the water,The steam or hot water needs to be at the machine design temp and the condenser/absorber water needs also to be at design to ensure correct operation. Take samples of refrigerant and lithd/brom and check consentrations
