    meat hanging rails

Anybody know of a company in the UK that sells hanging rail systems accessories for butchers coldrooms.
Preferbaly a manufacturer rather than distributors!!

You can get them from people like Colsec if you are stuck, failing that try some door hardware companies such as Fermod & Kason.

I previously had stuff from Kason in the Midlands, not searched the site but have a browse here.

    http://www.kasonind.com/index.php?op...ask=view&id=13

On a search engine http://www.polarcoldrooms.co.uk/acatalog/Racking.html state that they are "Manufacturers of galvanised hanging rail systems"

    Re: meat hanging rails

    Hi Chilly Blue,

Had to do the same some years back when I installed a butchers room.
Most new pre-fab rooms (ie. the ones that are made from pre-insulated cam-lock panels) are not strong enough to support rails hanging from the roof.
Sometimes you can get above room and fasten into building or make a gantry system on the outside of room.

In my case I had neither option, so I used Stainless steel unistrut channel and supported the weight on floor mouted plates and steadied by fixing into roof. Stainless steel bar was then fastened to the unistrut allowing the meat to hang from hooks hanging on the bars.
Plastic cover strips clip into the channels for hygiene.
Still going strong so I believe.
