Testing pressure and checking for leaks

I have a chigo 12000btu mini split ac unit which flashes e4 after running for about 30minutes. After looking at their site and reading the minimal information available for this unit on the web, I believe it has to be a pressure problem.

My question is this: what tool would I need to check the pressure of this unit, and where would be a cheap place to grab one.

It needs to be 410a/2. 54lbs

Also what is the best way to check for leaks?

Thank you and help and input would be greatly appreciated.

You should have a refrigerant handling certificate before you attempt to do this .

Re: Testing pressure and checking for leaks

I installed the unit myself, and feel as if I'm capable enough as long as I have the correct tools. Also I have re-charged the my ac in my car without considering myself a mechanic. Anyhow would the gauges I used on my car be the same, or are they a different size?

You need other hoses or adapters because your car is 1/4 SAE and R410a is 5/16 SAE.
It's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
