over capacitance
I have a walk in freezer with a start capacitor 145-175 but with my meter I get upto 300mf. Thought me meter was headed for recycling but I check a few new capacitors and it was always right. Went back and had the same reading and then cut off the resistor and the reading was 195-200.
Does any one know what is going on?
Oh I replace the capacitor with a new one which my meter reads correct.

Re: over capacitance
A resistor is not a capacitor hence the unusual readings.

Re: over capacitance
The Resister is there to bled the cap. so you don't have a problem if compressor short cycles
