    Fridge Frozen !!! Help



    Have a fridge (no freezer attached) and the top back has a build of ice and fridge not cold (although on number 5 setting) have tried higher number and still not cold. Turned off for a couple of hours other day but no different. Anyone any ideas as don't want to buy another fridge only had this one about 2 and a half years.

    Sounds like loss of refrigerant. If evaporator is concealed (inside back wall) then its probably beyond repair

    Check if evaporator fan runs. When evap coil ices up refrig temp hangs 48-50 degrees F. Thaw box overnight and check fan. Turning down temp when coil is iced just keeps compressor running and more ice forms.

    i have no idea of the manufacture of domestics nowadays but some manufacturers put a five year warranty on the system.happy has more than likely got it right
