Electric Load for Refrigeration Rack System
Dear All,
I would like to ask someone for help in rack system installation in supermarket.
We have purchased used rack system that was used in Florida. But the electric load is set in 460V, 275 HP.
The problem is we have 220V, 400 Amp. in our supermarket.
Is there any way we can convert the rack system to our current voltage without upgrade our electric?
Please help, Thank you.

OOOOh heck, a major problem. Get an electrical engineer to check if compressor motor winding tails can be re-terminated to local voltage and hertz, next problem is controls system, you may able to apply a really large step transformer. What ever which way it will be expensive. The joys of second hand equipment.

Re: Electric Load for Refrigeration Rack System
I think you might find that 230/60 is a 3 phase motor. 110/208 is being phased out as far as i understand and now a 208 3 phase motor usually has a nameplate rating of 220V due to other worldwide applications.
Not an expert though and either way it doesn't help the owner of the 460V equip who now has to run it on 220V. Sorry mate, sounds like a transformer for you....and she said "give it to me you big fridgie"
