Re: vulcan lokring
We took the plunge and purchased a Lokring set a while ago - selection of fittings and the tool, plus different size jaws and now have a few joints made on different sites.
So far, so good.
We only tend to use the system when other methods would be time consuming,(PITA) i.e. getting a hot work permit that may take a few hours to organise, dragging brazing kit all the way to the roof, or something similar.
I must say though, that with each joint we make, our confidence in the system grows. So far, no leaks.

Nick
Get hold of Lokring for technical advice but I can tell you they state a failure rate of 2 parts / million if installed correctly with the right bonding liquid. It is a bit more expensive than welding and there is the cure time factor (a negative). Tools are not cheap (another negative).
