cps vacuum gauge
hello, i have a cps vg200 digital vacuum gauge and the readings are up the creek, it will only read properly if not connected to system. once the system is in a vacuum it just takes a lon time to register what micron it is reading. has anyone else seen or heard of this. thanks CT

Re: cps vacuum gauge
Have you tried washing the sensor in alcohol or similar. May be oil contaminated.

Re: cps vacuum gauge
Are you sure that the vacuum you have created is low enough to register on the gauge?
Also, as stated above, make sure that the sensor is clean and the battery is good.Brian - Newton Abbot, Devon, UK

Re: cps vacuum gauge
Hi, guys
Can anyone tell where I can buy pressure gauges, vacuum pump, recovery unit,..etc.. but not too expensive for a tight budget and somewhere here in London.
Thanks

Re: cps vacuum gauge
local refrigeration dealer, i paid $330 aud for the vac gauge, $460 for a 120l/min vac pump. recovery unit about $900 aud. which is pretty good price for all

Re: cps vacuum gauge
Had the same problem myself, connected up the vac pump and stared pulling a vac, next the gauge stops working. Vac pump had pulled out oil mist from the system and contaminated the sensor. Now i vac systems for an hour befor fitting the guage, no more failures.

Re: cps vacuum gauge
^ Also, vac guage shouldn't be fitted to vac pump; it should be connected directly to the system if possible.

Re: cps vacuum gauge
And also as far on the system from the vac pump connection as you can get.
