    what is a buffer tank in relation to refrigerant recovery

    when the unit is designd whit a buffertank,it usualy can hold up to 1.2 times the actual amound of refrig thats needed for the complete installation. it also prevent the unit from quick malfuntion and give the client and the technician the time to sort tings out and put it back in good working order.

    a buffer tank can be a cylinder that is used to intercept liquid refrigerant before it enters a recovery machine even though 99.9% of recovery machines are able to recovery liquid directly nowadays.

    or it can be (never carried out in the feild) a cylinder used when purging ammonia vapour into water to prevent water suck back into a systems pipework.
