    Vibration Information

    Hello Everyone,

I am not a refrigeration technician but am looking for information on different compressors for vibration analysis purposes. Trying to get information from manufacturers is very difficult.

I am looking for bearing numbers, gear teeth count, male / female screw speed ratios, etc.

If anyone can direct me to a reliable source, or if I can post specific questions from time to time, that would be a big help.

Any information on Frick RXF compressors at this time would be a big help!

    Thank You.

    Re: Vibration Information

    Hi,
I`ve done a bit of vibration and shock pulse analysis on air compressors (not the same as `fridge ones I know but the same principle). If I can`te get the manufacturers info` on bearings, and rotor speeds etc I go by what I can find on the machine ie drive shaft size and speed and, dare I say it, guess the bearing sizes. After all, it`s all about building a trend for each compressor`s dbm, dbc and vibration over a period of time.

    Regards,
    Glenn

    Re: Vibration Information

Thanks. Trending is very important, however before we can establish a trend over time we have to report on current condition. The work we do is in the field so trending takes a while when we visit a customers site once a year or so. We use all the rules of thumb and manufacturers vibration limits when known, but we would like to identify certain frequencies that may indicate underlying problems.
We also guess bearing sizes etc, (use the non synchronous rule when trying to identify faults, etc) but with all the frequencies in a compressor actual information can really help.
