Refcomp Screw Unloading problems

I have four refcomp screw compressors with unloading issues. I can load or unload approx to 50% then after that point the slide moves to 100% and then wont unload. The solenoids move quite freely (load/unload)to 50% then tighen a little over this. Any ideas as I understand this is a common problem with these in europe? To remove these for overhauls will cost because of the skid location. All the solenoids have been checked and operate fine.

Can you say what model the screws are as I may be able to help!
Basically when you checked the solenoid valves did you disturb the plates and gaskets beneath their housings.
Because the way they are assembled dictates how they operate and as to which load capacity option they employ!
Your issue is with the solenoids we just need to confirm what is happening?

Ps do you have 3 solenoid assemblies as 1 of them is the 75% load option .
I suspect that is the one with the problem?

hi as said before your problem is with the solenoides and gaskets verify correct instalation

There is an inherent problem with early models: the slider has got a teflon scraper ring which seized more often than not. I've changed a number of those...
It's a dirty job... all the oil has to be drained.

Some things to check:
1. If computor controled, recheck your settings on slide valve menu screen.
2. Some slide valves have oil input or output metering device on each oil line. Check, if its too far open or closed.
3. Use a voltage touch probe or equivalent to verify the coil is energize/ de-energize as needed.
