An evaporator inlet accumulator?
Has anyone seen a kind of muffler/accumulator just after the capillary and before the evaporator inlet?
What's the role of this device then?
Thanks for reading

I 've seen similar things on milk vats, a Berkit liquid re-gen assembly, after TX vav. Cannot say Ive seen one fed with a capilary

Re: An evaporator inlet accumulator?
Guys,
That one is on a 2.2kw heatpump.
It has two little mufflers at each evaporator inlet. The mufflers are fed by the capillaries and their outlets lead to the evap inlets. They're exactly like the discharge line muffler.
I wonder if they're used for regulating the refrigerant flowing into the evap.

Re: An evaporator inlet accumulator?
Probably just filters unless they are the non-return valves, depends how big they are.

It's the like, and approx that size, too. Not longer than 2.5", less than 1" diameter.
It's makes me curious about its role in the system.
unless they are the non-return valves
