Question Help need - pressure test procedures

    Hi, all

Old chap need your help ... there is a new European Standard EN378-2008, (standard which unfortunately, I do not have) ... with some ???? changes....

Google was not of a big help ...but I believe to get more help here, as always

I need to make a pressure test (strength and leak) on a big ammonia plant ...

Regarding to maximum working pressure what are the pressure multiplication factors for strength and leak test pressure...

    Thanks for any help.

    Best regards, Josip

Google BS - EN 378-2 2008 Refrigerating Systems & Heat Pumps - you can purchase the standards off the relevant linked site.

In South Africa we test to 1.1 times pressure vessel design pressure.

    Good Luck

    Hi Josip,
    Strength test = 1.3
    Pressure test = 1.1
    Air cooled condenser = 55 Degrees C
    Water cooled condenser = 43 Deg. C
Low side of system = 32 Deg. C
If you pm me your e-mail address I might have a bit more infromation for you.
