General Cassette Fuse Problem
Hi All,
I have a 26 000btu General ceiling cassette heat pump type unit. The fuse on the outdoor unit keeps fusing. If I disconnect the compressor from the relay, it works fine, the relay switches without a problem. If I run the compressor on its own it also works fine. As soon as I connect the compressor up it will sometimes pop the fuse on start up. Any ideas?
Help will be greatly appreciated.

Re: General Cassette Fuse Problem
make sure that your cables resistance is ok as you may have either a faulty cable going to your contactor coil.
also check the resistance of your contactor coil.

Re: General Cassette Fuse Problem
I suggest the micro-relay's contacts on PCB are worn out - and at some times, when you are away, compressor's contactor, fed through that relay on PCB , begins frantically switching on and out. The fuse of the L to cassete blows out.
