Re: J Sainsbury
I think you'll find WR's woes are a result of it's parent company ,The Hurre Group , borrowing to much cash off The Icelandic Banks/Russian Mafia to fund it's expansion programme ! Hence The Parent Co looking after it's Scandinavian interests first and everyone else second as The Icelandic government is trying to claw as much cash back as possible and WR has suffered , sadly .As for the Sainsbury's contract i'll quote Bill (The cupboard is bare) Kenwright
"WATCH THIS SPACE"

Re: J Sainsbury
Sainsbury have now gone back to a combined contract.
Fridge and H & V and Electrical / Mechanical all done by the same contractor in store.
Locals in the same area also covered by that contractor and not by Project first.

Re: J Sainsbury
I can't see this happening. Now that Space know for certain they have the Sainsbury's contract it's thrown a spanner in the works and all the areas will be juggled about, AGAIN. The size of the area dictates the the number of engineers, per area. Until they know how many engineers they have to work with, they cannot sort out a rota.
The new contracts stated that shifts/salary would start from June 1st. As this has not happened, does that mean that the contracts are not worth the paper they are written on?
It's a sad state of affairs when engineers find out more from this forum than they do from their employer.
Sainsbury's want the new joint contract up and running from July 1st. Engineers will have to be TUPE'd across in double quick time. I can't see that happening either.
Lastly......Anyone that is TUPE'd across will start work on their existing T&C's. Space will have to run hourly paid workers along side guys working shifts/salary.
Not sure how that will work
Maybe someone from Space will chime in and give their thoughts on the matter.

Re: J Sainsbury
Thats a dead link. Tony knows what tuped is, hes asking why will people be tuped. WR dont have that many Sainsbury stores? so it wont affect them that much.

Re: J Sainsbury
Space = North West down to the South West.
SGMS Midlands and North East.
Project First = East Anglia and South East.
Don't know the Exact division in the South, i.e whether Space have London / Greater London or Project First.
Locals go to whoever has the relevant area, no longer national contracts.
Oh look, that's 4 contractors.
