magnetic bearings
We have at present stal s73 screws installed at the office complex where I work as a refrigeration tech. They are over 30 years old and are to be replaced in the winter with york centrifs. The yorks have magnetic bearings wich I have heared about but hav'nt come across yet. Out of interest has any one had any experience with them. regards dill.

Re: magnetic bearings
I had some questions about them .
1) how are the controls for the magnetic bearing.
2) have they been tested to work in specialized environments like offshore / ships etc.
3) how good are the bearings from maintainability and reliability point of view?
Thanx in advance
