Solenoid Valves
An unusual one this.
I need a valve (12v coil) that will switch NOX (Nitrous Oxide)
The valve needs to have between 1/4-3/8 (max 1/2) flow and should handle a MOPD of 1000psi (70bar) ish.
Has anyone seen such a thing at a reasonable price in the UK.

Re: Solenoid Valves
Never heard of a solenoid with MOP of more then 500psi.
Maybe try one from the steam or hydraulic industry, they work in these pressures.
the coil will be a bigger problem.

Re: Solenoid Valves
I was searching the web and I came across this site http://www.technobots.co.uk/en-gb/dept_205.html.
They mainly deal with pneumatics, but they have a range of low voltage, high pressure solenoid vavles.
Hope it helps.

Re: Solenoid Valves
Sorry John,
But not even nox will make the company leyland/daff vans go any faster.

Re: Solenoid Valves
Ok so here's the problem, NOX will rot most things I need nylon/teflon etc,, the valve orifice needs to be 1/4 MAX.
The coil power is the issue, can I either...
A. Use an existing solenoid with the usual 300-500MOPD and use a larger coil say 40w instead of 14w.
B. Use a 6v coil powered at 12v...

Re: Solenoid Valves
Hi Jon.
I think it should work and not burn.
I was called to a house today that wes connected to the main power by an idiot, connected the three phases wrong ie one to the "0" two othres ok and inatead of the third, the "0".
The poor fridge got 400 volt supply, survived for one day.
You should have seen the fan running at 5000rpm.
I thought of your problem and I think you are ok.
