Propane Compressor
I am new to the forum. This i guess is one of the best forum i have ever joined. Highly educative and technically contained.
Engineers, can you help me on getting information on technical understanding of propane compressors used in petrochemical industry.
A link of company that can supply it will also help.

Re: Propane Compressor
Hi Popesolo
I am looking at your question two ways.
Refrigeration compressors running on hydrocarbon refrigerant or positive displacement blowers for petrochemical process?
Either way I would start with these guys:
www.aerzengb.com
www.howden.com
Sturt.

Re: Propane Compressor
There are multiple answers/comments to this question.
- Does the compressor have to comply with typical petrochem specifications?
- Propane is just another refrigerant, however due to the flammability of the refrigerant you need explosion proof wiring, motors, and controls.
- Oil dilution can be a problem. Make sure you use a good quality oil that takes into account the oil dilution of the oil/propane mixture at the operating conditions required.
I would call Howden. If all else fails, ask for help.
