    Gec fridge - de52

    Good Morning from Land's End.

I am an hignorunt newbie which has stupidly purchased the above and had it removed down here from York - crazy, foolish, ancient (1954) Aries, that I am! Presumably I am 2 years younger than the fridge (DE52)?? It certainly works - the fridge, not me (!) - the milk is frozen. Unfortunately it never stops working. Presumably the thermostat, using that so useful technical term, is buggered. Any thoughts on: how I remove the stat without smashing it and where I can get a replacement please? I also need a new door seal - any ideas? What gas would it contain please? Anything disgusting?

Perhaps I should just paint it purple and put it in the sitting room as a display case for white elephants??!!

Your most kind considerations would be gratefully accepted and my e-mail is:

I'll post a quick post script to myself:

Those whom the gods wish to destroy, they first make MAD. I MUST be mad...

Why couldn't I have been content with a box and a slab of ice gently dripping through it?!
