GRASSO vs SABROE
Hi Guys,
I have two GRASSO RC411 Compressors but they are not in so good condition and too old - they are 35 years old. I think to replace them now, but I wonder what is the better choice - GRASSO again or Sabroe. What do you think? What do you know from your experience - what is better to do?
Thanks,
Rgds

Re: GRASSO vs SABROE
Hi manev
The Grasso RC411 is a 4 piston recip with a swept volume of approx 530 m3/h.
Grasso / Sabroe - screw or recip now thers some choices. Depends if you are a Coke or Pepsi man.
I have worked more so with Grasso products and their screw machines are very robust.
What are the process conditions such as temperature, constant load or variable etc?
Sturt.

Re: GRASSO vs SABROE
Hi rnanev.
Have you seen many 35yr old screws?
I know I haven't!
I would replace with recips.
They seem to handle the low load running better.
Particularly with the low load conditions you are describing.
Basically either Grasso or Sabroe are good machines.
I have worked a lot on either brand
And would struggle to choose between them.
I suspect you know the grasso's better, because that's what you already have.
If you wish to daisy chain their control. Then I prefer the unisab control system.
But again like most of us that's because I know their system better.
When all's said and done the choice is yours.

Re: GRASSO vs SABROE
Hi,
I think if you specify all requirement of your compressor and compare them between sabroe and grasso you finally found answer.
furthermore you should consider the price and money saving.
if you want to use parallel system i advise you to chose sabroe.
best regard

Re: GRASSO vs SABROE
I think compressor Sabore 100 model. hi speed at 1500 rpm and screw rotatune maximum speed at 6000 rpm.
But Grasso rep. can not running at maximum such as Sabroe.
Because Grasso be no oil cooling effect quickly lubricant deteriorate .
The most reciprocating compressor is SABROE.
The most screw compressor is FRICK.
