    Cooling Load from Forklift

    Re: Refrigerated warehouse

I am doing heat gain calcs to include forklift operation. What are folks using for a forklift usage factor and a motor load factor? Are the heat gains from the (typically) two motors - traction and lift - additive?

We have an intermittent, variable operation. I've guessed a 50% usage factor and 50% motor load factor, and added the kw ratings for both motors together.

I have searched for examples, but can't find any.

    Thanks for your insights.

Just add the kWh consumed by the battery charger during the night. That's your heat gain.
If it's a diesel powered forklift, convert the Kgs of fuel consumed into kWh of burnt fuel.
