Thermo King MD-II Max unit

I just bought this reefer unit, seperate off the truck to use as a walk in cooler. Changed oil and fuel filter, put additive. Unit starts for a few seconds then kills. Gives me a 4 error and motor is spitting out water droplets and black carbon through muffler. He said it hadn't run in 1 1/2 years, but was working when they took it off the truck. Thanks for anything I could try to get it running. It says the 4 code is the discharge air sensor, don't know it should keep it from running. Have no manuel for it.
