Solar Ice maker
I am trying to manufacture an intermittent solar ice maker using standard off the shelf evacuated heat pipe collectors like the Apricus 22. Can anyone help with heat pipe options, as well as how to determine proportion of ammonia and calcium chloride. Also a formula for determing how much ice the machine will produce. Thanks.

Re: Solar Ice maker
Hey j
Just wondering if you found answers elsewhere re the solar icemaker ?
I am thinking it will take a large collection of solar energy to create the separation required.

Re: Solar Ice maker
I know the Apricus very well because we had some to test for a long time.
But how on earth can you make ice with those?
Their purpose is heating water to a very high temperatureIt's better to keep your mouth shut and give the impression that you're stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
