Re: carrier chiller hp problems
Hi pobbo
Check the HP sensor callibration and superheat and subcooling - aim for about 10k subcooling. Also check comp current, ref charge, and obviosly condition of heat exchanger. If the heat exchanger is degraded reduce ref charge. Look for any modification on liquid line ie smaller drier fitted. Check the above with a good load.

pobbo.
Welcome, I cannot really add much to Tesla's excellent advice.
Other than to ask what you mean by the following- "bottom horizontal coils do no work"
Is it because the fin condition has deteriorated so that there is poor flow through them?
Or they may be oil logged?
Damaged?
System overcharged?
Put me out of my misery, what is wrong with them.
If it is down to old age etc. I have resorted to the old lawn sprinkler trick!
Mind we don't suffer from water shortages as much over here.
Cheers Grizzly
