F-Gas Regulations Italy & Spain
So just who is playing ball?
Germany and the Netherlands have declared minimum qualifications as do the UK (2079 and CITB).
Got guys from Italy and Spain on site and they claim there is no standard in their country despite the legislation. Have to send them home I guess but I need a justification??
Anyone know if our mates in Spain and Italy really have complied with F-gas and what the qualification is?
Oh and don't get us started on 2079....we are all stainless and oil free so why Cat 1?? Oh its the 50kg charge duh!

Re: F-Gas Regulations Italy & Spain
That is partly true. In Italy provisions of CE 842/06 (commonly known as F-gas) are being ratified and will become law in a matter of few weeks.
Engineers are being trained and will soon be taking their examinations.

Have a look at "Fighting the good fight"
They don't allow me to give you the URL. So, either Google the title, or go to cnplus.co.uk and search for it
They give advice about the situation in a number of countries.
And appreciate the EU already willingness to cut the HFC use, while the F-Gas regulation is not yet really implemented !

Re: F-Gas Regulations Italy & Spain
Ah Cat1 2079 Qualification is related to charge mass. As part of that you have to do a brazing test and compressor oil recovery...
My 26 systems are all 316 SS Swagelok and my compressors are all oil free so I will be paying for my guys to stip on their bums for 5 days plus up to £1000 fees to prove they have skills they won't ever use on this site.
Suppose it will save if we need a plumber?
