    Exclamation Free Beer + R23 , R503, R13, Suva 95 replacements and costs

    Hello Fridgies,
On another thread you guys worked out what refrigerant I need for the low temp side of a -86 degree dual cascade freezer-- R23 plus a bit of 290 to aid oil return.
I live and work in Laos so nothing is avaliable here.
We still use R22 and R12 shipped in from China who manufactures there.
Bangkok has quoted me 84 000 Baht / $2360 USD for 8KG Bottle of R23.
Nearly more than the freezer is worth!!
Do I have any alternatives and what is the realistic price of R23? I am also searching China for old stock of R13 and R503 or Suva 95.

As always your help is appreciated and you will be able to claim free beer when you visit Laos !!! as well as a bed and food.
    Best Regards

    Sabaidee Chris Burrows,

Where are you based? Sounds like someone is really asking for a huge price for your gas. When do you need it? Just brought in Suva R-134a (13.62kg) at THB5500 - ex BKK, for a research project. Perhaps I can help, as we are just across the river from Thailand & have a trading house on tap.

Nice chatting to you per phone today. Incredibly small world, isn't it?

I'll get my Mom to e-mail me some Boerewors recipes & send them onto you...

Take care. Will be in touch per e-mail.

^ Sounds like a great idea - my wife's happy. I'll get my dear old Mom on the blower about the South African sausages (boerewors).

You have a barbecue (braaivleis) device?

    ----------

What did you decide to do about the R290? Mixing everything up together, plus oil, sounds like a disaster waiting to happen - especially with the old machine. I'd suggest looking into some alternative systems - a nice environmental start is

    http://www.r744.com

That is the CO2 site. Lots of really nice people & new technology. There were a few cascade systems advertised there, last time I was on the site.
