inside split a/c systems
can someone tell me where i can find information of exactly what is inside and split a/c unit (mainly the outdoor unit) in terms of refrigeration components; pipes, valves etc. (not really electrical components).
im particularly interested in daikin. do they have a technical website or something?
thanks,
paul

Re: inside split a/c systems
- COMPRESSOR
- CONDENSER
- EXPANSION DEVICE
- ACCUMULATOR (possibly)
- ELECTRONIC CONTROL BOARD
All A/C condensing units contain these components, Heat pumps Also have a reversing valve,

Re: inside split a/c systems
hi paul,
it would also cotain, leaves from the closest tree, dead lizards, pieces of stikcs that kids push into the fan.
the expention device - cap tube will be betwen the bottom of the condenser and the liquid line valve.
cap tube used to be in the indoor unit but it makes high noise when when the refrigerant starts flowing or when there is refrigarnt shortage.
from that reason, it was moved into the outdoor unit.

Paul
Try this link - it's to a page on the Spaceair members site and it shows the technical liturature (sp?) for a Skyair system. If you scroll down you will find the schematic for the outdoor unit. Hope the link works as I'm a member but I can't give out my password - if I did I'd have to SHOOT you (as Chemi say's) http://www.spaceair.co.uk/cgi-bin/pa...121%20tech.pdf
Be patient it takes a while to load and is in pdf format

Re: inside split a/c systems
10 out of ten boys - it is a distributor.
Paul - this is the small device on the end of the liquid line where it splits in to many small pipes to distribute the refrigerant equally into the evaporator. Give me the model number of the split and I'll see if I can post a link for you.

Re: inside split a/c systems
Fire Sprinkler mounted upside down?
Distributor? Only one injection soldered of the distributor?
Rest is open? Wouldn't the gas not blow out the others?
