    hi baker,

fantastic idea. nothing about power consumption.

now I understand why american police officers shout: freeze!

    Hello Krups
Same type of idea as a vortex tube as used on jet engines and miners cooling suit ,hot and cold produced from compressed air I was well impressed when I first saw one in use in research department

    hi dave,

vortex tube is an old thing and works on a totaly different princip, yet its widly used especialy on milling machines for cooling the drill bits.

    very expensive to run.

I once bought a small Vortex tube for testing but you need a damn big compressor before it works fine.
There were some different ofifices in it.

    Re: Thermoacoustic Refrigeration

first time iv come across all these other methods of cooling, and its pretty amazing...any others out there ?
do u guys reckon this is the future ? to create a method of cooling withough using refrigerant ? or is it a race ....either that...or until someone comes up with a refrigerant thats totally safe to use...
