    Bad heat pump design (TXV)?

The heat pumps i´ve been having issues with recently I´m sure are down to design issues.

I have noticed something which I think is quite relevent to the opertaion of the heat pump.

    1. The TXV bulb is on the bottom (horizontal) of a "u" bend.

    2. The The TXV bulb is after the equalising line for the TXV.

    3. Both the bulb and equalising line are after the 3-way valve.

I believe all these things are incorrect and would lead to the problems I have been having with the suction line pressures and temperatures flucuating. Am I correct in thinking this?

I have attached pictures to demonstrate what I mean. The suction line bends up behind the the accumulator then bends 180º on to the top of the accumulator.

I´ve made a new thread so not to confuse my other thread. If the mods want me to put this in there, then let me know and i´ll post it in there instead.

Looks like an Alto to me. Reverse engineering at its best ha. The bulb should be as close to the evap as possible after any distribution pipes from the evap, prefferably on a level pipe and before the external equalisation line and it should be lagged to prevent it being affected by airflows through the machine. As for the external equalisation, it looks like it is in the wrong place to me.

    Hope this helps.

Exactly what I though, thanks. Yes it is an Alto, well spotted.

yes, what you think is very correct.
TXV is a very important part in refrigeration system, there is strict demands about its installation: TXV must be vertical
the bulb and equalizing tube must installed on horizontal pipe.
equalizing tube must be downstream of the bulb

I have an Alto HY40 and am looking after an engineers manual to help solve a constant "E4" error/fault.

Also, thank you for the Mods suggestions
