Re: Capillary Blocked?
Easiest (and safest) is to change it together with filter-dryer!
There are some hydraulic pumps for cleaning capillary tubes. You clean them by pumping oil thru them with high pressure.
But you still need to de-braze them. Since you de-brazed them, it is easier to change them, then mess with pumping.Last edited by nike123; 21-02-2009 at 08:12 AM.

Re: Capillary Blocked?
The worst ones are when they are situated inside the suction line. Manufacturing a new suction line with the capillary inside is a nightmare. But as stated change the drier as well.

Re: Capillary Blocked?
I've used abs pipe cleaner in the past. Braze a bigger piece of pipe on the end of your capillary(5/8 or something) and use it like a funnel, blow it out with ofn into a container. Keep doing it until it comes out clean. Regards Kev.

Re: Capillary Blocked?
One thing we used to do was heat the back of the fridge up with a wall paper steamer, this helps the blockage in around 50% of the time as we used to do a lot of Beko's and they was a bugger for it.

Re: Capillary Blocked?
Dear, I am having the experience to solve this .
1.Please cut the capillary at drier joint and Flush the system with Nitrogen, vaccum it and reachrge it. The problem will be solved.
2. Heat all the joint e.g. Capillary drier and drier condenser, and evaporator capillary. 80% problem will get solved for sure

Re: Capillary Blocked?
By heating drier you releasing captured water in dryer.
By heating joints you melting ice to moisture which circulate in circuit until it reach dryer. If dryer is saturated, than that moisture will form ice and eventually make restriction again.
And I did not even touched problem of acid formation because of free moisture in circuit.
Heating joint could only show to you, is the problem moisture or some other thing, what cause blocking. It is not solution of problem, if dryer is saturated.
I don't see any other reason (other than ice melting ) for joints heating.Last edited by nike123; 05-03-2009 at 02:05 PM.

Re: Capillary Blocked?
i'm not sugesting you do this, but once i saw a system that froze at the begining of the capilary tube and it was not working properly, the system had no service valve so what i did was to tap the begining of the capilary tube and then it suddenly stopped freezing and things went back to OK,
i know that whatever was blocking the cap tube is now a system contaminant flowing all over the system, but since this was a factory problem because no service valve was installed, and the unit is still working ok after 7 years i thought i'd share it with the forum.
