    Multi-Hertz compressor

Our company is starting to supply our refrigerated units with 50hz compressors. Is there a compressor that has the ability to switch from 60hz to 50hz and vice versa or is there an adapter?

    Re: Multi-Hertz compressor

It depends on the voltage. A 60Hz, 460V compressor should run happily on 380-400V 50Hz. 1-phase compressors is probably harder to make dual Hz versions of.

As long as v/f is constant, no problem for the motor.

We typically use 220v/60hz and 120v/60hz compressors.
