Severe weather warning issues for UK... wait for the call outs!

Be prepared for the call outs on systems failing to heat properly or going into longer defrost cycles!

Typical. We are a load of woosses over here. 1" of snow & the whole country grinds to a halt. Elesewhere in Europe, US & Canada they measure it in feet and just go on as normal.
If in doubt read the instructions. If still in doubt follow them.

Do you know what... I have to give it to them, its working very well.

The house dipped to 14C in the night and the central heating came on this morning for 3 hours but only got the house upto 16C (its a very big central heating system) so I got up at 10am and put the system on and were now idling along at 22C. The system is has done 2 defrosts so far and is running a little faster than normal but thats prob due to being so cold and the outdoor unit being covered in snow its still got to set point I asked for.

WHen I got up I had to put on high fan speed to bring temp up quicker but now its back on Low and will remain on low for the rest of the day as its "got hold of the temperature.

Its snowing heavily again now and looking out my window I can see the snow being blown away from the unit however snow is building up behind the unit.

I suppose this is when you need a oversized unit as its better able to cope! My unit can provide 14500btu heating if needed however the room only needs 12000btu when it was sized.

How is everyone elses systems coping? Only thing I have noticed is air doesnt seem to be as warm blowing from it? However its prob cos of colder room temp because its bringing temp up.

hah we haven't hit 45C yet but sometimes it feels like it. We have probably had about 4 days of 40 degree heat otherwise it hovers between 34 and 38.
